Patch Tuesday for March 2015
Microsoft released 14 security bulletins today to fix about 44 different problems, most labeled ‘Critical’ security updates.
The patch package includes Microsoft’s solution for the now-infamous FREAK security vulnerability and some major fixes for Internet Explorer.
While PC’s should be set for automatic updates, you can manually check for and install them using the following steps:
Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.
In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
If any updates are found, click Install updates. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
If you find that you can’t update the computer or that updates are turned off, this may be a sign that your operating system has become corrupted and/or that it is infected with a computer virus.
As always, if you have questions about Windows updates, computer performance, computer repair or virus removal and are in Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, Shawnee, Lenexa, Prairie Village or any other suburb of Kansas City, please give us a call, and we will take care of you.
Thanks, Prairie Star Technology!
